Fritters sweet tart jam is a nutritious meal for adventurers in healthy foods!


These fritters make the Christmas season and day go round.They bring a little southern delights to the Christmas buffet tables.

They are bound to make both the young and old happy especially if they are used as an appetizer before the main Christmas big meal or dinner. You can make as much as 2 dozen fritter and 1 C of jam.


1.  2 eggs beaten lightly

2.  1 sweet onion, halved and sliced

3.  1 T of olive oil + 1 T of tomato paste

4.  2 t balsamic vinegar

5.  1/3 C of apple jelly + 1/3 C of canned tomatoes, diced

6.  1/8 t of curry powder  +1/8 t of cinnamon

7.  2 C of baking mix + 1/2 C of milk

8.  1/2 C of sour cream

9.  1 (11 oz. ) can yellow and white corn, drained well.

10.  1/2 t of salt, divided + 1/8 t of pepper

To start making fritters sweet tart jam, we begin by first pouring the olive oil into a skillet and place the skillet over medium heat.

Then follow up with stirring the onions in to the oil and saute for 5 minutes or until golden brown.

Pour the vinegar into the skillet and stirring continuously, cook for 2-3 minutes.

Then remove the skillet from the stove and set aside, and in a sausce pan mixture the jelly, tomatoes and tomato paste.

Add in the curry powder, cinnamon, 1/4 t of salt and the pepper and blend well.

Place the pan over medium heat and heat the mixture for 5 minutes.

Stir in the onion mixture and cook an additional 3 minutes.

Then remove the sauce pan from the heat but keep the jam warm.

Now, place the baking mix and corn into a mixing bowl.

Add the eggs, milk, sour cream and the remaining salt and mix until well blended.

Heat the oil a deep fryer to 375 degrees and drop the batter mixture by tablespoonful into the hot oil. and fry for 1 1/2 minute then flip.

Fry an additional 1 minute or untilcrispy brown.

Finally, remove the fritters and drain on paper towel and serve with the warm jam.
