EAT DRIED FRUITS BECAUSE THEY ARE AS GOOD AS FRESH FRUITS!

Naturally most people like to eat fresh fruits than dried fruits. However what they do not realize is the fact that scientifically dried fruits are equally as good as fresh ones especially in fighting cancer!

An article written by the science editor of Daily Mirror Newspapers Mr Mike Swain entitled "Raising your hopes" In that article, he alleged that experts confirmed that dried fruits are just as effective at preventing cancer as fresh fruits.He stressed further that dried fruits such as dates, figs,raisins; sultanas and prunes have also been found to combat heart diseases, obesity and diabetes.

Dr Andriana Kaliora of Harokopio University Athens said: "Our researchers suggest dried fruits(Greek currants) inhibit some forms of cancer." She also added too that extracts appear to stop cancer cells growing-even killing them off and suppress inflammation"

Here in Great Britain the NHS currently recommended eating some dried fruits but the World Nuts and dried fruit Congress wants them officially recognized as just as healthy as fresh fruits around the world. Healthy eating ideas suggest and encourage people of all nationalities including Nigerians to start eating dried fruits as much as fresh fruits.

Although dried fruits are often seen as less healthy than fresh fruits because they contain more sugar by weight. On this, some researchers said people eat much smaller portions than they do on fresh fruits but get the same benefits because they contain a greater concentration of nutrients.

The study says: "The greatest benefits of including dried fruits in the diet is increased consumption of fruits and the nutrients they contain"

The researchers equally added: "Dried fruits are easy to store,available all year round,readily incorporated into other foods and recipes,relatively low cost and a healthy alternative to sugary snacks."

The World Health Organization estimates that about 2.7 million people a year die from lack of eating fruits and vegetables.This sounds scary that is why healthy eating ideas encourages everybody from Nigeria to United Kingdom, France, USA; Germany to Russia to eat both fresh and dried fruits so as to prevent some chronic diseases as well as achieve good health and long life!
