BEANS RECIPE AND INGREDIENTS

To cook the beans one has also first, determine how many people are going to participate in the eating. The answer will determine the quantity of beans to be cooked. Normally, Nigerians measure beans recipes in cups.For a family of 4,three cups will be adequate if the beans are going to be cooked with or in combination of other food stuff.

Once the quantity of beans are determined, and thoroughly washed at least three times with hot or cold water,they are poured into a pot with half a litter of boiling water.The beans recipe has to boil at least for 30 minutes before yam or plantain is added.

Before the yams are added, the yam tuber's skin has to be peeled off and then cut into various sizes.It could be in cubes,triangle,squares etc; Once the yams are cut into various sizes, then they are thoroughly washed and put into the pot. The reason why the beans recipe are allowed to boil for 30 minutes before the yam are added is because the beans takes longer time to be cooked. In comparison, yam,plantain,or rice take less time to be well cooked. Both the bean recipe and the yams cutlets will boil for another 40 minutes to be well cooked. As soon as they are well cooked, then all kinds of seasonings,spices,including salt and pepper will be equally added and stirred intermittently until the entire food is fully cooked and ready to be eaten.This healthy eating balanced meal can be eaten hot or cold.Leftovers can be either be warmed on the stove or in microwave.
