I'm sure you may not have heard or eaten orange juice chicken recipes before until now. This particular dish can cook in the slow cooker while you are preparing the rest of the meal. The kids will always like this kind of dish.
The beauty of these are that you have to try what you have never tried before, especially in this dish, you have to buy chicken legs and thighs instead of leg quarters for quicker preparation. This meal will make 12 servings.
1. 8 Chicken legs quarters
2. 3/4 C ketchup
3. 1 C orange juice
4. 1/4 C
5. brown sugar, packed
6. 1/4 C of red wine vinegar
7. 1/4 of olive oil
8. 4 t fresh parsley, minced
9. 2 t Worcestershire sauce
10. 1 t garlic (crushed)
11. 1/2 salt+ pepper
12. 2 T + 2 t of cornstarch
13. 1/4 C of water
To begin with, first cut the leg quarters at the joints and place into the slow cooker.
Then whisk together the ketchup, orange juice and brown sugar until the sugar dissolves.
Then whisk in the vinegar, oil, parsley and the Worcestershire sauce.
Then sprinkle in the garlic salt and pepper and whisk until well blended.Then pour the mixture over the chicken and turn the chicken to coat on all sides.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low low for 6 hours or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 180 degrees.
Now remove the chicken to a warmed serving platter and cover to keep warm.
Dip out 2 C of the cooking sauce from the slow cooker and place in a saucepan.
Whisk the cornstarch and water together until smooth.
Add the mixture to the cooking sauce in the saucepan and place the pan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a brisk boil.
Stir constantly and cook the mixture to 3-5 minute or until thick.
Finally, pour the sauce over the chicken before serving. You have done a good job by cooking orange juice chicken recipes. Eat Brussels sprouts!
