Pork loin apple jelly is an excellent  tasty and delicious meal!

PORK LOIN APPLE JELLY FOR CHRISTMAS MAIN DINNER OR BUFFET:

This is a very tasty delicious meal but the snag is that it takes a whopping 8 hours, 15 minutes to cook.  You will need the determination of an ox, patience and dedication to go through such long cooking extravaganza.

The apple jelly in this recipe compliments the pork to give it a delicious taste.

If you are looking for something different than turkey Christmas dinner or to serve in your buffet table this tender but juice pork might be just what you and your family are looking for. It definitely makes a change to chicken, roast turkey or beef.

The easiest way to do this cooking is to start on Christmas eve and by Christmas morning, this will be ready for either a buffet dish or for Christmas main meal.

The preparation time for this meal is about 15 minutes while the cooking time is a marathon race of 8 hours!  The total cooking time is 8 hours 15 minutes.

RECIPES/INGREDIENTS/PREPARATION FOR 12 SERVINGS:

1.  1 (4 lbs). of pork loin ( thoroughly washed)

2.  1 t season salt  +1 t pepper

3.  seasonings:  mixed spices, thyme

4.  1 (12 oz.) jar of apple jelly

5.  1/2 C of water

6.    2 1/2 t garlic, minced

7.  1 T dried parsley

8.  2 tbsp of vegetable oil or olive oil.

Let's go for the marathon cooking race by first, cutting the loin into half and sprinkle with the salt, pepper, mixed herbs or spices and thyme.

Now place both halves into a 5 qt. crock pot.

In a bowl whisk together the jelly and water until smooth.

Now, stir in the garlic until all are well blended.

Follow up by pouring the jelly glaze over the pork loin and cover the crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours!

After 8 hours, the meat will be soft and tender and reach about 160 degrees on a meat thermometer.

Finally, remove the meat and allow it to stand at least 10-15 minutes before you start slicing.

It is incredible! It is not as hard as we thought when we started. It is definitely easy.

You can see that once you have the meat in the oven, you have all the time in the world to do whatever thing or other kitchen activities to perform. You can turn the meat and brown it while cooking.

The beauty of this delicious meal is the fact that you can serve and eat it with foods such as roast potatoes, rice, pasta, yam, plantain, fluted pumpkin leaves and all manners and kinds of vegetables from carrots to runner beans, broccoli to Brussels sprouts etc.
