STRAWBERRY FREEZER JAM RECIPES IS ONE OF THOSE MOUTHWATERING DELICACIES THAT PEOPLE ENJOY AT SUMMER PICNICS. It is easy to make once you have the recipes and the ingredients handy. I love every thing about Strawberries and the jam is really very pleasant to enjoy at any time of the day especially during Summer times.
RECIPES/INGREDIENTS AND PREPARATION:
1..1 pt boxes of fresh strawberries (washed, drained and hulls removed)There is the necessity to have them thoroughly washed. This is to remove all traces of soil which may contain what is called 'Toxoplasma' which is a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Toxoplasmosis can be harmful especiall to a baby if the eater is pregnant.
2..2 1/2 C of fresh pineapple,( peeled and finely chopped)
3.. 7 C sugar
4..2 pkgs (1 3/4 oz) powdered pectin
5..1 C cold water
6..4 pt freezer containers with lids
PREPARATION/ HOW TO MAKE IT:
First, place strawberries in a large mixing bowl. The quantity will determine how many people will participate in the eating and how many servings. The next step is to crush the strawberries with a potato masher. Measure out 2 1/2C strawberries and place in a separate bowl. Follow up with the addition of pineapple to the strawberries.
Then slowly add the sugar and stir intermittently until they are well mixed. Place the cold water in a saucepan over medium heat. Then follow up with addition of pectin. Stir continuously until water begins to boil at least for 1 minute and then remove the heat.
Pour the water mixture into with the fruit and stir continuously for about 4 minutes for all to blend well.
Pour into the pt freezer containers and cover.Then allow to be kept at room temperature for 24 hours and then freeze after 24 hours.
The jam is expected to stay good or not go off for at least 6 months.When you are ready to eat, just remove from the freezer and place on table top or kitchen top under the room temperature for about 1 hour. If you can't finish it then cover the remaining portion and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks. Congratulate yourself and enjoy as much as you can. Healthy diet and healthy eating!
