Tropical island spiced shrimp the meal on this article is super delicious, nutritious and tasty. Tropical shrimps taste better and are sharp, evocative and  different from many other types of shrimps from other temperate regions of the world.

The bananas in this recipe are what give this dish its tropical taste. Make sure that you choose the best bananas for this meal and be careful not to use or include any stained or brown spotted ones before slicing them.

For any small spice, add a chopped Serrano pepper in with the onions and garlic. Another thing to remember, since sweet potatoes differ so much in size only use enough to make a single layer over the onions and garlic.

RECIPES/INGREDIENTS/PREPARATION FOR 4-6 SERVINGS:

1.   2lbs. of shrimp

2.   4 fresh bananas, cut into1/4 in. slices

3.   1/2 of a large onion, sliced thin

4.   6 garlic cloves, crushed

5.   1 t of ginger

6.   1 sweet potato, halved lenghtwise and sliced into 1/4 in. pieces

7.   1 bell pepper, cored, seeded and cut into thin strips

8.   1/2 T of water + 1 T of sugar

9.   1/2 t of salt + 1/4 t of pepper

10.   1 t red pepper flakes

11.    4 T of white vinegar

12.   1 (10 oz.) pkg of frozen spinach

13.   1 (14 oz.) can diced tomatoes, drained well.

To start cooking Tropical island spiced shrimp, first, set the oven temperature to 450 degrees and allow the oven to preheat.

Then follow up by coating the inside of a cast iron Dutch oven with a non stick cooking spray and scatter the onions and garlic into the bottom of the pot.

Then sprinkle evenly with the ginger

Place the sweet potato  slices over the the onions and garlic and layer the shrimp over the potatoes.

Then arrange the bananas over the shrimp and slide the bell pepper strips between the banana slices.

Now place the water into a measuring cup and add the sugar, redpepper flakes and vinegar.

Now follow up by whisking until the sugar has completely dissolved and stir in the salt and pepper.

Now pour halve of the spiced water over the ingredients in the Dutch oven and layer the spinach into the pan and top the spinach with the tomatoes.

Finally, pour the remaining spiced water over the top and cover and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the vegetables are soft and tender.
