EAT HEALTHY, EAT TOMATOES COOKED OR RAW THEY DO WONDERFUL WORKS TO IMPROVE OUR HEALTH AND BOOST OUR IMMUNE SYSTEMS.
In these days when the supermarkets are deluged with heavily processed foods, one ought to be careful what he or she eats. About 15-25 years ago, the word "Obesity" was never mentioned or seen as it is today! It is now an epidemic!
In Nigeria, an Igbo proverb says, I quote, "Instead of me to over eat and fall or collapse on the road, I will rather chose to eat a little!" It makes sense! But there are some people who would like to eat until they drop dead! Over eating can stupefy, and suffocate a greedy nonchalant eater.
Eating healthy balanced meal or diet which may contain at least 55%-75% starchy and carbohydrates may keep an average person in good healthy trim. And what are the starchy and carbohydrates one may ask? Starchy and carbohydrates foods consist of brown rice, potatoes, yam, wholegrain bread. Balanced diet therefore means eating varieties of these foods including beans, eggs, fruits and vegetables,lean meat,including starchy and carbohydrate diets; seafood as well as drinking large measures of water, and milk per day.
To avoid overweight or obesity,you must stop smoking,and excessive drinking of alcohol.Avoid eating of biscuits, crisp, and cream cakes and and sugarcoated doughnuts because they are really very harmful to your life!
Whenever I 'm writing or advising people about obesity, I frankly, don't see Nigerians as being obese.I hardly see obese Nigerians except the Nollywood stars. Majority of Nigerian Nollywood stars are tremendously overweight It is high time they stated doing something about this type of affair. I have given many advices in some pages in this website.
SOME REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD EAT TOMATOES!
As I have always said, God in his Infinite wisdom and mercy created varieties of fruits and vegetables not necessarily for our consumption but equally for our curative and healing purposes. Who could ever believe that eating fruits like Tomatoes can do a lot of good to our body?
You should eat tomatoes raw or cooked because they are packed with immune-boosting vitamins A, and C!
Tomatoes especially when cooked, can be classified as a superfood because: They are red because they contain lycopene, which is a powerful diseases-fighting compound. Studies suggest it may combat a range of cancers including those of the prostate, pancreas, bowel and breast.
Your body will best absorb the lycopene if you eat tomatoes with healthy fat-rich foods like avocado pears, olive oil and nuts.
Cherry Tomatoes: It sounds unbelievable but it is true that one medium or seven cherry tomatoes will count for one of the recommended five fruit and veg portions we should all eat every day.
You should eat tomatoes because they are good for your heart. They are high in fibre,potassium and niacin. All these are known to lower cholesterol.
Studies and researches show that cooking tomatoes as a sauce or in the form of ketchup releases lycopene and helps the body absorb and use it.
Finally, for good health, eat tomatoes,and sleep well> Drink at least 12 cups of water every day and have good sleep, drink no alcohol and don't smoke. Sleep is highly beneficial because it reduces stress and depression!
