EATING CAKES AND BISCUITS IS NOT ONLY HARMFUL TO THE BODY BUT BELIEVED TO RAISE THE RISK OF WOMB CANCER IN WOMEN!

I was horrified to read this article in the Daily Mirror Newspaper dated 23-08-2011 written by Mr Lachlan Mackinnnon (Daily Mirror Health correspondent). The article is entitled "EXPERTS: EATING CAKES AND BISCUITS RAISES WOMEN'S CANCER RISK"

The article continued,"It's no secret that scoffing cakes and biscuits adds inches to waistlines-but women will be horrified to hear it may also increase the risk of getting cancer!"

As my website is about healthy eating to achieve, fitness, good health and long life, I felt my women readers should share this current findings with me.This article is an eye opener and warning.

I know that there are millions of women all over the world who desperately indulge in eating especially creamy cakes and biscuits every day! I hope this article will at least help them to realise that these cakes and biscuits are equally as harmful to the body as smoking cigarettes!

I love my readers no matter where they come from, Egypt, Nigeria, Canada; China, Europe, Asia, Japan, USA; and Russia to mention a few! I love them to be fit, have good health and live long! It is true that cakes and biscuits are sweet but these researches have found that they are not healthy eating diets to be be proud of.

EXTRACTS FROM THE DAILY MIRROR ARTICLE:

"A study has found that women who eat sugary snacks several times a week are 33% more likely to get womb cancer. And those who indulge more than three times a week, that risk jumps to 42%"

The article went on, "Scientists are hailing the findings as having "a major public health significance!" "The 10-year study in Sweden, involving more than 60,000 women, examined the links between sugary diets and the development of womb cancer. Also known as endometrial cancer, this disease affects 6,400 women a year and kills 1,000!"

The article continued, "The risks rise with weight gain,but a team at Stockholm's Karo-linska Institute wanted to see if there was a direct link between the amount of sweet foods eaten and the onset of cancer".

DANGERS OF FREQUENT CONSUMPTION OF BUNS,CAKES AND BISCUITS:

Many other extensive researches were made over the years, according to the article, I quote, "They found little or no increase in risk from having soft drinks, jam or marmalade. But women who frequently snacked on sweet cakes, buns and biscuits were up to 42% more likely to get cancer"

"The study looked at how often such treats were eaten, but not specifically how much. However, those whose daily intake of sugar was more than35g-about seven spoons-faced a 36% increase in the risk of of getting a tumour".

"Sugary diets are thought to affect the risk of womb cancer in several ways. One is that sugar overload makes the body release more insulin which can stimulate the excessive growth of cells

in the lining of the womb"

"Another is that it boosts levels of the hormone oestrogen, which has been shown to trigger the uncontrolled growth of cells-a key characteristic of cancer"

My advice is that people including men women, even children should eat cakes, buns and biscuits in moderation. There are people who eat these unhealthy diets everyday without knowing the risks they take. Sweet cream cakes and biscuits equally trigger obesity or overweight.

The time has come when you have to take proper care of your health. The food manufacturers are equally to be blamed for health hazards these days especially with processed food intake. "Eat well and live healthy, fit, and long!

Eat fresh vegetables, fruits, protein and fibre rich diets such as fishes, beans, meat, eggs, poultry etc. Fruits and vegetables are vital source of vitamins and minerals. Cut down on salt and sugar too. Finally, avoid eating cakes and biscuits regularly for your good health's sake! Change your lifestyle and eating habits and live happily, fit and long!
